How to Setup Your Brave Browser

Things have changed lines have been crossed, and it's time now to re-evaluate Google Chrome. Google is a great company that has done great things, but the little guy is getting the shaft. When a big company starts losing its focus and money becomes the driving force things can go sideways pretty fast. When they dropped the "Don't be Evil" from their code of conduct I think this was when the threshold was crossed. It's sad that they decided to remove it. Shortly after reading this news I stood back and realized that I have been devout Chrome users for over 7 years. The browser is fast, and it has an awesome code inspector which is what I use on a regular basis, but after reading article after article about how the browser is scraping your personal info and using it to sell and store personal info on you, it woke me up. Further research brought me to the realization that the core code is free for commercial use and that other teams of developers have been working like crazy on better options. Chromium was my first discovery, but I later learned it too was compromised. Then I came across the Brave Browser started by Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript and co-developer of Mozilla. Brendan's team is doing some groundbreaking work with his new Brave browser. He has developed a payment system that uses the blockchain to allow readers, and creators to circumvent third-party ad networks. He has virtually eliminated the middleman. Unfortunately, the payment system is not ready for primetime, BUT the security and privacy part of the browser is fantastic. You get the raw speed that Chrome offers in conjunction with excellent privacy and security countermeasures that make your browsing experience resistant to most malicious activity. Not only does the browser protect you but it provides new functionality like tab preview and sections, an in-browser torrent reader and a comprehensive preference page. The browser needs a bit more work in the extension side of things, and there are a few other small tweaks that need to be pinned down, but for the average user, this browser is a win-win. Take back your integrity and stop the exploitation.
